Position Title:= IT Specialist (Policy and Plans)	Location: 155 CF, Lincoln, NE
Military Grade Range: SrA/E4 Minimum - MSgt/E7 Maximum
Military Requirements: Designated assignment for this position is 3D0X1.&n= bsp; Mandatory ASVAB minimum score of 47 in Administration. Must a minimum X-Factor of G, li= ft of 40 lbs and PULHES physical profile of 333233. The award of the AFSC is found i= n Air Force Manual 36-2108 and must meet the AFSC entry criteria outlined. Applicants will review the qualifications for the award of this AFSC in the Force Ma= nual 36-2108. Failure to review = these qualifications may result in the applicant not being eligible for the position. AGR personnel occupying a fenced position may not transfer their AGR status to another position.

Summary of Duties: Analyze requirements= and recommends plans of action for improving assigned IT applications. Determine current and future poten= tial for enhancements of existing and planned IT applications both hardware and software. Identify problem areas along with a variety of possible solutions= and alternatives and submits change recommendations to a higher graded Policy a= nd Plans specialist. Analyzes as= signed portions of plans and specifications, prepares justifications for new or enhanced information technology. Serves as a point of contact throughout various phases of projects until successfu= lly concluded. Perform as a plans= and policy advisor to functional users of IT.&= nbsp; Develops and interprets policy for administering IT systems. Assesses policy needs and reviews, revises, and develops recommended changes to existing policies to govern IT activities. Analyzes IT system development as it relates to the organization and ensures policy and guidan= ce are available for its use. As= sist in the development of migration plans for implementation of new technology.=    Develops training programs, = or locates and recommends sources of training that ensure users can apply the = best techniques in using IT. Provide technical assistance to s= ystem users and contractors. Implem= ent methods, procedures, policies, and techniques concerning telecommunication = systems. Performs work involved in developi= ng, refining, and complying with assigned portions of the telecommunications systems planning and policy direction primarily involving short- and long-r= ange plans. Reviews requests for communication services, develops budgetary justifications, recommends chang= es to assigned segments of networks/systems designs, prepares/reviews equipment and facility specifications, monitors/resolves technical communications problems, and/or conducts operational acceptance tests. Updates documentation and maintains listings of authorized equipment for assigned programs. Perform annual inventories. Assist= with contracting functions and budget preparation.   Conduct periodic analysis of assigned projects and their funding for consistency with overall IT and communications architecture and infrastructure. Develops budget recommendations fo= r use in the Squadron’s overall budget request. Attends meetings and presents brie= fings.&nbs= p; Analyzes areas of concern, identifies problems, and resolves the less complex conflicts through persuasive discussions with management and u= ser representatives. Consult with= base officials, working groups, customers and other organization personnel on IT= and communications concerns. Prep= ares reports encompassing long and short range planning strategy recommendations for assigned portions of the IT and communications systems. Maintain liaison with technical and professional organizations and industry to keep abreast of trends in technology.
